This philosophy could be in the area of helping someone else during a difficult time, helping other students through tutoring (non-paid), helping a neighbor or an acquaintance (old or young) solve a problem, etc

APPLICANT INFORMATION
Applicant will graduate June 2012 from John F. Kennedy High School in La Palma, California, and will have attended the school for at least one year prior to the application deadline.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
- a. Plan to attend a Community College full time in 2012-2013.
- Has a munimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Has reached out and helped others
- Completion of the Scholarship Application of the JFK Scholarship Foundation
- Scholarship Application (print & mail via USPS)
- A personal statement that includes a short section providing examples of your proven and demonstrated philosophy of reaching out and helping others. (mail with application)
- Academic Transcript
- Two Academic Letters of Recommendation
- Employer/Volunteer Supervisor Letter(s) of Recommendation (if applicable)
- Interview (to be scheduled on campus)
Only one scholarship from the Foundation per applicant will be awarded.
The scholarship will be awarded at the Senior Award Night.
The scholarship check will be issued when proof of registration to a post-secondary institution of higher learning is received by the Foundation from the award winner.

Verify that all of your supporting materials have been sent - NO APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED UNTIL ALL SUPPORTING MATERIALS ARE RECEIVED. Personal interviews with applicants will be conducted during April, and Scholarship awards will be announced shortly thereafter.
