SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION OF JOHN F. KENNEDY HIGH SCHOOL

Nitesh & Niti Patel Volunteer Scholarship

APPLICANT INFORMATION


Applicant will graduate June 2012 from John F. Kennedy High School in La Palma, California, and will have attended the school for at least one year prior to the application deadline.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
  • Plans to attend a post-secondary school full time in 2011-2012.
  • Has a munimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Has volunteered time with nonprofit and/or health organizations within the community, and/or volunteered time with the cities of Buena Park, Cypress, or La Palma.
  • Completion of the Scholarship Application of the JFK Scholarship Foundation
    • Scholarship Application (print & mail via USPS)
    • A personal statement that includes a short section describing your volunteer work and why you volunteer your time with nonprofit/community/civic organizations. (mail with application)
    • Academic Transcript
    • Two Academic Letters of Recommendation
    • Employer/Volunteer Supervisor Letter(s) of Recommendation (if applicable)
    • Interview (to be scheduled on campus)
Only one scholarship from the Foundation per applicant will be awarded.
The scholarship will be awarded at the Senior Award Night.
The scholarship check will be issued when proof of registration to a post-secondary institution of higher learning is received by the Foundation from the award winner.

Application information is also available in the Counseling Center. Be sure to arrange to have all the supporting materials postmarked to the Scholarship Foundation by February 18, 2012. Verify that all of your supporting materials have been sent - NO APPLICATION WILL BE CONSIDERED UNTIL ALL SUPPORTING MATERIALS ARE RECEIVED. Personal interviews with applicants will be conducted during April, and Scholarship awards will be announced shortly thereafter.
